Our Story

Founded by sisters Malou and Madel along with their husbands Rodel and Mark, Somethin’ Sweet 4U has been an idea in the making since the late 80s.

Gathering at their homes, family and friends dubbed it ‘the meeting place’ celebrating everything from Christmas to weekly dinners at the residence.

The main draw to the meeting place were the delectable meals and desserts Malou and Madel would make from recipes passed down from generation to generation. Eventually the sisters were baking cakes, boat tarts, empanadas, and crema de fruita to name a few, as gifts and eventually as orders.

What started as small requests from friends and coworkers, grew into a small startup restaurant in 2005 at what is now our Rathburn location. The Terry Fox location opened in 2008, followed by our flagship, Latimer location in 2013.

The tradition continues today with more items and more members of the Somethin’ Sweet family.
